Louisiana Child Well-Being Summit

A thriving Louisiana begins with thriving children.

The 2nd Annual Louisiana Child Well-Being Summit: a Developmental Focus on Youth Transition to Adulthoodwill be held on April 29-30, 2015 at the Lod Cook Alumni Center on Louisiana State University’s campus in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We will explore the long term impact and epidemiology of Trauma, Violence and Maltreatment on Children and Adolescents and Effective Treatment Options.  Experts will also address how to promote better outcomes for vulnerable youth, with special emphasis on the role of high quality mental health, permanency, transition and other services.  Finally, Louisiana is embarking on a journey to integrate behavioral healthcare for Medicaid recipients into the already existing Bayou Healthcare structure.  Day two of the Summit, will focus on that process and allow for questions and comments to DHH Secretary Kathy Kliebert, Assistant Secretary Rochelle Head-Dunham and representatives from the Bayou Health companies.

The social, emotional, and physical well-being of our children is crucial to the well-being of the state. It is up to all of us to make a difference. Join us as professionals from the child welfare, legal, medical, and law-making communities all gather to share scientific knowledge and address the needs for increased public awareness to create positive change in the lives of our children and youth in Louisiana.
